Hilton Head Island is a personal favorite for me, and our blog will be full of all things to do in Hilton Head Island over the coming weeks as we spend even more time down there. The demand has increased for the island as the world starts to open and travel trends change a bit. Most know this slice of heaven for the golf and wow do they have golf! BUT coming from a girl who lives in Charleston, the food mecca, I love love love HHI’s food and drink scene. I am going to give you a few of my favorites for dinner below.
Santa Fe
Many do Southwest, but few do it like Santa Fe. Everything I have tried has been great. I think I had the grouper last time. I love listening to live music next to the fire on their outdoor rooftop cantina. If you are a fan of guacamole, make sure to try theirs. https://santafehhi.com/
Michael Anthony’s
This is the favorite for so many locals. Michael Anthony’s is a classic NY style Italian restaurant and once you visit, you know why it is loyal to islanders. The fresh pasta was amazing, and they had a great Italian wine list. https://www.michael-anthonys.com/
Lucky Rooster Kitchen and Bar
This place has a cool vibe and an eclectic menu that is always changing with ingredients sourced from local and regional farms, purveyors, and the local waters. You can call to get the latest menu offerings before heading over. https://www.luckyroosterhhi.com/
Hinoki
This Japanese steakhouse is best known for its sushi bar. Chichi as he is affectionally known as has created the best sushi I have ever had. Many who have been around the world agree. You have to try his tuna three ways. I dream of this dish on the regular. If you want something different than what is on the menu, he is usually very open to creating you something. http://www.hinokihhi.com/restaurant
ELA’s on the Water
It looks like it would be super touristy as it is in the marina, but it is consistently great in food and service. Their wine list is impressive and you cannot beat the view either. Most tables have a view of the water/marina. http://www.elasgrille.com/
Sage Room
They are known for their steaks, but it is also a great place for tastes from around the world. I prefer the Chef’s table, which is a ten-person bar where you can watch all the kitchen happenings. https://www.thesageroom.com/
Red Fish
This spot is good for brunch and dinner. Their wine list and fish selections are solid every visit. Many of their tables are situated in unique settings that make you feel like you are among the wine racks or in someone’s dining room. Their extensive wine list has won them the Wine Spectator’s “Best of Award of Excellence”. https://www.redfishofhiltonhead.com/Home
Whatever your next adventure looks like, we would love to assist you.
