COVID 19 Update – April 21, 2020

Happy Tuesday! First and foremost, I hope everyone is doing well during these difficult times. Along with Disney, we recognize there is still much uncertainty with respect to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As you know, Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Universal Orlando, and Universal Hollywood, and almost all of our other travel partners have shut down operations out of precaution to protect the safety of all guests. While we realize this is shocking news and we are all dealing with an unprecedented situation, we are certain this decision has been made out of the best interest of all guests.

Since my last update about two weeks ago, not too much has changed in the travel industry. Some states around our country have been reopening plans, so the next few weeks may offer some additional insight for us in many directions.

Destination Specific Information:

Walt Disney World & Disneyland ~ In line with guidance and direction provided by health experts and government officials, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort are currently closed. A reopening date has not yet been scheduled. The Walt Disney World Resort is accepting new reservations for travel dates beginning June 1, 2020.

Disney Cruise Line ~ With the wellbeing of Disney Cruise Line guests and team members as its top priority and in line with direction from health experts and government officials, Disney Cruise Line has decided to extend the suspension of all new departures through May 17, 2020. The Canadian government has announced that it will not allow any ship with more than 500 passengers to dock in any Canadian port until July 1, at the earliest. The sailing on the Disney Wonder is scheduled to embark and/or debark in Vancouver and Disney Cruise Line has not been able to secure an alternate homeport. Therefore, it is necessary to cancel the sailings aboard the Disney Wonder through July 1st.

Universal Parks ~ The closure of Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood will be extended through May 31, 2020. This includes theme parks, Universal CityWalk at both destinations and Blue Man Group Shows. We will keep you posted as this date approaches.

Other Cruiselines (Carnival, Royal Caribbean, NCL, Princess, etc) ~ Sailings are cancelled through May 2020 – with some lines cancelling through June 30, 2020. More details to follow as information is updated.
